- Product Introduction
Silicon Carbide is an inorganic substance with chemical formula SiC, also known as carborundum, which is made of quartz sand, petroleum coke or anthracite and smelted at a high temperature in electric resistance furnace, what we mainly supplied two regular types: Black Silicon Carbide & Green Silicon Carbide.
Black Silicon Carbide;SiC content is about 95%,its toughness is better than green silicon carbide, is mainly used in processing low tensile strength material, like glass, ceramic, stone, refractory material, cast iron and non-ferrous metals etc, available size F12-F220,P12-P220,or any other size by customer's requirement.
Green Silicon Carbide: SiC content is about 97%,its advantage is good selo-sharping, is mainly used in processing hard alloys, titanium alloys and optical glass, also used in honing and precision grinding, available size F12-F220,P12-P220, or any other size by customer's requirement.
Silicon carbide is in high hardness, the Moh's hardness is 9.5,also has excellent thermal and electrical conductivity and could resist oxidation at high temperatures, it mainly used for grinding and polishing of grinding wheels, sandpaper, sand belts, polishing stone and so on, the other important application area is refractory material to make various smelting furnace linings, high temperature furnace components, silicon carbide plates, supports, saggers and silicon carbide crucibles.
