Brown Fused Alumina Oxide, also known as Brown Fused Alumina(BFA) and Aluminum Oxide brown, it is made by the smelting of calcined bauxite in electric arc furnace at temperatures more than 2000℃,it needs a slow solidification process after fusion to yield blocky crystals, it is very important to control Titania content during the fusion process to ensure toughness of the grains, the cooled lump is in future crushed, cleaned the magnetic impurities and classified into narrow size fractions to suit the end use, the main chemical composition is AL2O3,its content is 95%-97%,also contains Fe Si Ti and so on with low content.

ABRASIVES: Brown Fused Alumina Oxide is commonly used in sandblasting ,grinding and cutting as basic abrasive, its high hardness(Moh's 9) and durability make it better for removing surface coating/cutting or other treatment.
Refractory Material: Its high melting point and resistance to thermal shock make it suitable to use in the production of refractory materials, which are used to furnaces and other high temperature equipment.
Other applications: Such as ceramic grinding wheels, polishing compounds and welding electrodes
